Print "Emergency Note" for Vehicle
Module 35
Leaving an emergency note in your vehicle is a simple yet critical step for enhancing safety during a canyoneering adventure. This note provides vital information to local Search and Rescue (SAR) teams in case of an emergency. Here’s what to include:
1. Trip Details: The size of your group (total number of participants). (Optional: First names, if comfortable) Emergency contact information for group leader The name(s) of the canyon(s) you plan to explore and first time/not familiar or familiar with area. Any known medical conditions or allergies within the group.
2. Timing and Schedule: Date and time the canyon adventure began. Anticipated return time to the vehicle.
3. Additional Notes: Mention any alternate plans, such as potential exit routes or backup canyons.
This form can be pre-printed and kept on hand for multiple trips. Place the completed note clearly visible on your vehicle’s dashboard before starting your canyon. By doing this optional task, you empower SAR teams to locate and assist you more effectively in case of an emergency.
