Mark the box after a completed descent, record your total number of descents, and use the notes space for a date, partner, conditions, or a short memory from the day.

REMEMBER

Use the listed ACA rating as a baseline description of the route. Check current beta, weather, access, permits, anchors, water, and conditions before every descent. Confirm the exact fork and itinerary; this list is not a list of beginner recommendations.

HOW TO USE EACH ROW

ACA The listed rating describes the route’s technical, water, and time classifications. Conditions and the abilities of your group still determine the plan.

DONE Mark the box after you complete the canyon.

TIMES Write your total number of descents, such as 1x, 10x, or 30x.

BETA Use the source codes to find the exact route and compare descriptions. Record the date and conditions of the beta you use.

NOTES Keep it brief: date, partner, conditions, favorite moment, repeat, or skip.

ROUTE NOTES

The ACA entries are retained as route references. Publishers may disagree or describe different forks and exits. The following notes concern access or itinerary, not ordinary seasonal changes to a rating.

Calf Creek Falls, Upper and Lower: The BLM’s 2025 approved management plan prohibits canyoneering, rappelling, and climbing at the falls. A listed rating does not authorize access.

BLM — GSENM approved management plan, recreation prescriptions

Halls Creek Narrows: The full Halls Creek Overlook loop is 22.4 miles; NPS recommends three to four days. Identify your exact approach and return route before applying the listed time grade.

NPS — Halls Creek Narrows

Zion Narrows, Full: The Chamberlain’s Ranch top-down trip is 16 miles. NPS estimates 10–14 hours and requires a wilderness permit. It is a different itinerary from a bottom-up visit.

NPS — The Narrows from the Top Down

Englestead and Heaps: Published grades differ materially. The Canyoneering USA index lists Englestead as 4A IV and Heaps as 4B VI. Resolve the exact variant and required skills when planning. Observation Point Canyon is marked closed in that index; verify current access with Zion before considering a trip.
